Tempted (Sea Dragons of Amber Bay #1) by Zoe Ashwood, a Book Review

Tempted Zoe Ashwood

Introduction

Tempted by Zoe Ashwood is Book 1 of the Sea Dragons of Amber Bay trilogy. It tells an exciting story of a unique mix of characters – sea dragons and witches. It depicts great sceneries, electrifying and surprisingly steamy plot.

Goodreads Blurb of Tempted by Zoe Ashwood

Who knew one small mistake—that just happened to go viral—would result in being exiled from my family and shunned by my coven?

Not me. Yet here I am, in nowhere, Alaska, armed only with a laptop and my Pomeranian.

But even witch magic can’t prepare a girl for the freezing temperatures, murderous moose, or the abundance of hot men.

Jack, Ty, and Aiden walked straight out of the freezing ocean like some mythical gods, water sluicing from their broad shoulders. What starts as burning attraction quickly turns into searing kisses and hot nights between the sheets.

But something isn’t right in this tiny Alaskan village. There aren’t any tourists. There’s no internet, and the locals shoo their children away when I walk past in the streets.

There are secrets here I long to uncover. But not if that means the risk of exposing my own.

Tempted is a ‘why choose’ paranormal romance perfect for readers who enjoy sassy heroines, sexy sea dragon shifter heroes, and enough steamy scenes to heat up even a cold Alaskan night. This is the first book of an ongoing trilogy.

Tempted Summary

For this summary, I will just add what is not provided in the blurb while straying away from spoilers as much as possible. The blurb is written from the perspective of Skye, who is actually a banished witch by her coven. Her magic lies in the use of codes making her an IT or computer specialist. She was hired by the leader Aiden who is the only person in the village of Amber Bay with knowledge of her being a witch. She is employed to create a secured website for the village. There are other handsome men in the village who worked closely with her in the persons of Jack and Ty. Skye is attracted to the three men who are actually shifters, men who can turn themselves into sea dragons. This is a secret that Skye does not know yet. Tempted is only Book 1 of Sea Dragons of Amber Bay trilogy.

Tempted is written from the perspective of Skye, Aiden, Jack and Ty.

Commentaries on Tempted by Zoe Ashwood

This is the first time I read about a story set in Alaska. It actually made me Google Alaska sceneries after the enticing descriptions written in the book. It actually transported me to Alaska and made me feel like being there and I thank this book for that.

The heroes being sea dragons sounds exciting although not much has been stated about their powers in this book installment yet. I will be looking forward to that in the next 2 books.

I love how Skye’s power as a witch is aligned with technology making her a programming and computer expert. I find this aspect original and I’m excited about how Skye can make the most of it in the future. I find it exciting that there are so many secrets that are still left unsaid in Book 1. On how these secrets will affect the story moving forward remains to be seen. Zoe Ashwood did a great job in making her readers wonder what will happen next in this story. I was actually hooked from the start. But, I already have a lot of expectations on my mind right now for the next 2 books.

I read this book with very little and wholesome idea about reverse harem so I was surprised that it turned out to be that steamy and so adult. I was educated on the spot about rated R reverse harem scenes but it’s alright I’m old enough to have known this in the first place.

Overall and Final Ratings of Tempted by Zoe Ashwood

Overall, Tempted is an engaging read. The setting is great and I find the story unique. I don’t know if Skye will end up with someone but I already have my bet. I must say that I got curious about this book not for its romance aspect because I’m not really into reverse harem but for it being in a genre of fantasy/paranormal fiction. So, going into the next two books, I look forward to what will happen in the village of sea dragons and the conflict that will be created from the fact that Skye is a witch. As for this book, Tempted, it successfully sets the excitement for readers to want to read the next two books. With all these things in mind, I give Tempted by Zoe Ashwood a 4.7-star rating.
