What Sunsets in Colorado is about?

Sunsets in Colorado by Milan Watson is an instalove, cowboy, small town, and writer romance set in White Horse Creek, a small town in the middle of Palomino County, Colorado. It tells the story of Lewis State, a scriptwriter based in LA, and Tanner Bryant, a cowboy from Lewis’ hometown, White Horse Creek.

Tanner is a trusted ranch manager of Double T, a ranch owned by Lewis’ family. Lewis left Double T long ago after the death of her mother. She came back when she got a call from Tanner about her father’s heart attack. Coming back to her hometown, Lewis was faced with deep issues in the past involving her relationship with her father and her sister.

The surprise was meeting Tanner whom she immediately had a strong attraction. They fell inlove but a secret came in between that threaten their happy ending before it can officially begin.

Sunsets in Colorado is a standalone but is a part of the Under Colorado Skies and Crazy Colorado series.

My Review of Sunsets in Colorado by Milan Watson

Sunsets in Colorado is a fast-paced and short romance read. I like how the story started and how the emotions were played at the start. I must say I had the best moments when Lewis’ father expressed his apology to his daughters and when he talked about his late wife and their love story.

I would want to like Tanner because he is possessive of Lewis and he knows immediately that he loves her. I think I am just missing some more depth on the conflict and a bit of roller coaster of emotions to play more in the story because the author made me feel deeply at some point in the story. I would want to see more steamy adventures or just some kinds of adventure between the two in such a beautiful setting. The steamy scenes are not too explicit and in a way, I did expect more. I cringed at some of Tanner’s lines in the ending because I think it’s too mushy for my taste.

But, with these things aside, Sunsets in Colorado is a short, fun, sweet, and in some parts emotional read. I think I just expected more from Tanner as a cowboy hero. Cowboy romance is one of my favorite tropes and I like reading this kind of story. Overall, I love this kind of read and I’m giving it a 4.5 rating.
